TheBSAC Sports Diver course is designed for certified divers who want to become more skilled, confident, and self-reliant underwater while expanding their experience beyond entry-level recreational diving.

This internationally recognised qualification develops your ability to plan and conduct dives independently with a buddy and to manage a wider range of diving conditions safely and effectively.

The course builds strong real-world diving competence and prepares you for deeper dives, increased responsibility, and progression toward leadership-level BSAC training.

Course Contents & Highlights

• Advanced buoyancy control, trim, and efficient finning techniques
• Improved underwater navigation using compass and natural references
• Rescue skills and controlled problem-solving underwater
• Dive planning, gas management, and independent dive execution
• Use of decompression techniques to extend dive profiles safely
• Diving with Nitrox to increase safety margins and bottom time

Course Requirements

• Certified BSAC Ocean Diver or equivalent qualification
• Good buoyancy control and prior open water diving experience
• Suitable physical fitness and medical clearance if required

Depth & Qualification Outcome

After certification, a BSAC Sports Diver is qualified to dive to a maximum depth of35 metres, enabling access to deeper reefs, wrecks, and more challenging dive environments.

This qualification is ideal for divers who are ready to progress safely, increase independence, and prepare for leadership and advanced BSAC training levels.
