The BSAC Advanced Ocean Diver course is the natural progression after Ocean Diver and is designed for certified divers who want to increase confidence, independence, and real-world open water diving experience.

This internationally recognised qualification focuses on developing practical diving skills through structured open water dives conducted in a variety of conditions. Training emphasizes awareness, decision-making, and safe dive management.

The course prepares divers to take greater responsibility for their own dives while continuing to work effectively with a buddy, building the foundation for more advanced BSAC training levels.

Course Contents & Highlights

• Refine buoyancy control, trim, and efficient underwater movement
• Improve dive planning, situational awareness, and gas management
• Gain experience diving in different conditions and environments
• Develop confidence managing dives more independently with a buddy

Course Requirements

• Certified BSAC Ocean Diver or equivalent qualification
• Good buoyancy control and basic open water diving experience
• Suitable physical fitness and medical clearance for diving if required

Depth & Training Outcome

Upon successful completion of the course, divers are qualified to dive to a maximum depth of 30 metres, allowing access to deeper reefs, wrecks, and more adventurous dive sites.

The training strengthens confidence, awareness, and self-reliance while maintaining strong buddy diving principles.
